A LITTLE BACKGROUND

My introduction to amber necklaces was when my daughter was a baby, teething like crazy, & drooling all over her clothes so much so that they needed to be changed multiple times a day. I had seen cute little babies in amber jewelry & heard that it was supposed to help them, but I wasn't sure exactly how. Was my daughter supposed to chew on the tiny beads? The answer is no! I'll tell you more about what I learned when I started researching amber jewelry, but first let me say that yes, the amber necklace helped & I was thrilled to know it was true - it worked! I also want to add that she never seemed to have intense teething pain, but I have friends who agree that their child's teething pain seemed to be minimized with amber jewelry.

WHAT IS AMBER?

Amber is fossilized resin from trees. Trees produce sap when damaged or scratched to protect themselves & to heal, so it makes sense that their sap, which hardens & turns into resin, would have healing properties. People have been wearing amber jewelry in a healing way for thousands of years. Succinic acid is the healing property that makes amber so unique. It helps with pain, anxiety, inflammation, & is even used in medications to treat thyroid & menopause issues. It is released from the amber when worn & absorbed directly into the skin.

The amber comes from pine trees in the Baltic region of Northern Europe. Some of it is up to 44 million years old! This area of the world has some of the largest deposits of amber. It comes in shades of yellow, orange, and brown/black.

ORGANIC GEMSTONES

Amber is considered an "organic gemstone" in the sense that it is a gem, but was formed by a living organism - a prehistoric tree from millions of years ago! Other organic gemstones are pearls & corals.

THE AMBER JEWELRY IN MY SHOP - FOR BABIES & ADULTS

The amber necklaces & bracelets in my shop come from the Baltic region of Northern Europe. Each bead is knotted onto a cord with a twist clasp enclosure. The beach charms are attached with a heavy gauge .925 sterling silver wire. You can also get the amber jewelry without the charm.

I started offering amber jewelry for adults after multiple people asked me if I had their size. I love that it's something everyone can enjoy!
