The charm is gold plated over .925 sterling silver & the chain is 14k gold filled. The blue inside the charm is synthetic opal the color of the Caribbean Sea which will never lose it sparkle.

CARING FOR YOUR GOLD PLATED CHARM TO MAKE IT LAST

The charm is gold over silver & will wear off over time if not properly cared for:

1. Make sure your hands are clean & free of lotions, perfumes, sunscreen, etc. before handling your charm. Avoid getting these things on the charm.
2. Remove the jewelry before swimming in chlorinated or salt water pools & the ocean & before doing exercise or any other activity that will make you sweat as salt & chemicals may affect the gold.
3. If you forget to remove your piece & must clean it, simply use water & a mild soap - a shower will do the trick. :)
